Working with .htaccess file

To work on your .htaccess file, you first need to set your file manager to list HIDDEN FILES. When you are logged in to your cPanel, click on the File Manager and a window will pop up asking you which folder you want to open. On that same box, there is an option to Show Hidden Files. Simply check that box, and you are ready to go.

If you are trying to edit your .htaccess file by downloading the file from FTP, please do the same thing by configuring your FTP client to SHOW HIDDEN FILES. Hidden files are all files that begins with a dot.
